Blogger Naked Domain Redirect to www Subdomain Error

Recently, when I tried to open my site without "www" subdomain, the site returned a 404 error page. I was surprised as it had never happened before. My immediate guess was that something has happened to the godaddy servers and an error had occured in my godaddy domain settings. But, to my relief, when I used the "www" subdomain then my site opened normally.

Then I went to the Settings page in my blogger account. Blogger lets you redirect a naked domain to a www subdomain. There is a checkbox which lets you the use that option. My checkbox is normally kept checked. It helps in redirecting blogtipscodes.com to www.blogtipscodes.com. I checked the box and saved my settings. But still it was not working. So, I went back and saw the box had been automatically unchecked. I tried this a few times and in every case the box was automatically unchecked.

So, as usual I went to the Known Issues blog and I searched for the issue. A post from 19th September, stated that

"The option to have a naked domain redirect to 'www' is currently not functional for some users. We're working on a fix and hope to have it resolved shortly."

So let's just hope that the issue gets resolved quickly.
